From Poets.org: Inaugurated by the Academy of American Poets in 1996, National Poetry Month is now held every April, when publishers, booksellers, literary organizations, libraries, schools and poets around the country band together to celebrate poetry and its vital place in American culture.
Great for poets, poetry, and the cultures in which they play a vital role!
So in my brief tribute to American poets, I'm sharing with you a gathering of poets from last year's Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival. They include two of my favorites: Rita Dove and Billy Collins.
