...I'd know that my most popular posts on any given day are read (or landed on) by people looking for information on Grace Nichols's The Fat Black Woman's Poems, and people interested in John Agard's poems, particularly his love poems. I'd also know that most visitors come from the following ten countries/territories: U.S., UK, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Jamaica, India, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, and The Bahamas. And, I'd be aware that the longest time most visitors spend on the site per visit is about a minute.
So if I were to post based on google analytics, I would probably post more on Nichols and Agard, tailor my posts to U.S., UK, Canadian, and (possibly) Trinidadian concerns, and I would keep my posts short.
As you loyal readers already know, I'm nothing but a crowd-pleasing cheerleader on this blog. So without further ado (gotta keep it short), I give you the following lines from Agard's "Goat-born Lady," and Nichols's "Afterword." Both Agard and Nichols were born in Guyana, they both live somewhere in the UK, and I'd like to think wherever you are--India, the Caribbean, U.S., UK, or Canada--you can certainly appreciate love and chubby beauty. Or chubby love. Or chubby sex. Or just a bit of sexy word art.
Goat-born Lady
Beloved capricorn
my goat-born lady
gracing the horn of plenty
Shall I play the goat
in the hill of your armpit
or do you prefer me
to climb towards your cleft?
Afterword
The fat black woman
will come out of the forest
brushing vegetations
from the shorn of her hair
flaunting waterpearls
in the bush of her thighs
blushing wet in the morning
sunlight
