...I'd say they immediately present several conditions (mostly of the heart) which lead to crimes of many types. From a mix of the stereotypical and the unpredictable in Lisa Allen-Agostini's "Pot Luck," where woman-wrangling, weed-smoking, weed-dealing "Rastas" battle to their deaths, to two lonely women who commit a surprising crime in Kevin Baldeosingh's "Rape," the first two stories in Trinidad Noir set a torrid pace for what I hope will be a satisfying read.
